Andreas Fritsche Elected Vice President of the German Diabetes Association

The German Diabetes Association (DDG) has a new leadership. The new president of the DDG is Professor Andreas Neu, MD. The DZD scientist Professor Andreas Fritsche, MD was elected Vice President.

Andreas Fritsche is deputy director of the Institute for Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases of Helmholtz Zentrum München at the University of Tübingen, a partner of the DZD. At Tübingen University Hospital, he heads the research group “Prevention and Therapy of Type 2 Diabetes”. He also coordinates the DZD research focus area on the prevention of type 2 diabetes. The diabetologist has won numerous prizes and awards – including the Ernst Pfeiffer Prize, the Werner Creutzfeldt Prize and the Bürger Büsing Prize.
