New Approach for Diabetes Therapies: Inceptor Regulates Insulin Homeostasis

In 2021, a research team led by Prof. Heiko Lickert from Helmholtz Munich discovered the insulin-inhibitory receptor "Inceptor" and its role as a suppressor of the insulin signaling pathway. Now, the researchers have unlocked another, even more significant function of the receptor: it binds insulin and directs its breakdown within beta cells.
