German Diabetes Association (DDG)

The DZD is in close contact with the German Diabetes Association (DDG). With over 10,000 members, the DDG is one of the largest medical and scientific associations in Germany.

The DDG engages in the study, therapy and prevention of diabetes mellitus and offers further training, services and consultation for doctors as well as for health professionals and actors in politics and society.

Close Cooperation with the DDG

The executive boards of the DZD and DDG meet regularly in order to take joint action in strengthening translational diabetes research, university-based diabetology and the training of young diabetologists as well as to advance the integration of research findings into guidelines. DZD researchers are actively involved in the scientific training program of the DDG congresses and are members of the program committee, chairs and speakers.

DDG Certifications

The DDG awards various certificates to surgeries and clinics for evidence-based patient care and compliance with high guideline-compliant quality standards. Patients can use the map search to find certified practices and clinics. Doctors also have the option of entering their surgery or institution in the physician search.
