Institute for Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases (IDM)

The primary research objective of the Institute for Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases (IDM) is diabetes prevention and its personalized therapy

The IDM has access to data from well-phenotyped cohort and multicenter studies involving people with an increased risk of diabetes. Organ crosstalk—the interaction and role of the brain, liver and pancreas in the development of prediabetes and diabetes—is of particular interest. To this end, basic scientists cooperate closely with clinical researchers.
