Activities and Events for World Diabetes Day

Around World Diabetes Day on November 14, numerous events will once again draw attention to the metabolic disease. The DZD and the national diabetes information portal diabinfo.de are also taking part. For example, diabinfo.de will be presenting its portfolio on prevention and living with diabetes.

The on-site event "Milestones of Modern Diabetology 2024 ” organized by DiabetesDE Deutsche Diabetes Hilfe on November 10 in Berlin will focus on 25 years of CGM (continuous glucose monitoring). In addition to practical and scientific presentations, there will be an exhibition on diabetes-related topics. This is where diabinfo.de will also be making an appearance. Milestones in modern diabetology starts at 12:00 and ends at 17:00. Admission is from 11:30 am. Admission is free.

Virtual World Diabetes Day

At #dedoc°'s Virtual World Diabetes Day, which is taking place for the fifth time this year, people will talk about their lives and everyday life with diabetes. There will also be news from research, insights into the work of #dedoc° and much more. diabinfo.de is one of the network partners of the event: November 14, 8 pm, live on weltdiabetestag.de

Information stand and diabetes risk test

The DZD partner Paul Langerhans Institute Dresden of Helmholtz Munich at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus of Technische Universität Dresden (PLID) will be providing information about diabetes prevention, treatment and current research on November 14 at the Johannstadt Medical Campus in Dresden (11:00-14:00). Interested parties can also take the DIfE - German Diabetes Risk Test (DRT) developed by DZD researchers.

World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day was established in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation, the World Health Organization and the United Nations. It is celebrated every year on November 14, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who discovered the life-saving hormone insulin in 1921.

The national diabetes information portal diabinfo.de is a joint service of the DZD, Helmholtz Munich and the German Diabetes Center. It offers up-to-date, neutral and scientifically proven information on all forms of diabetes mellitus as well as on the prevention of non-communicable diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases in a generally understandable and multimedia format.
