DZD Scientist Awarded with 2020 Early Career Research Prize in Vaccinology R&D

Prof. Dr. Carolin Daniel from the DZD partner Helmholtz Zentrum München is the winner of the 'IUIS Early Career Research Prize in Vaccinology R&D'. She is honored for her outstanding achievements in vaccine research and development in Europe, especially for her work on the mechanisms of tolerogenic vaccination (Treg induction) in autoimmune type 1 diabetes.

The Prize of Excellence was set up by IUIS in 2017 and aims at rewarding significant achievements in Vaccines R&D in Europe. This includes the discovery of new vaccine antigens, new vaccines design, understanding the basics of immune responses, new technologies that will improve the future of vaccines and vaccination and that are supported by proof-of-concept data (preclinical and clinical).
