The biochemist Professor Hadi Al-Hasani will give his inaugural lecture on January 13, 2012 at the Medical Faculty of the University of Düsseldorf. The lecture, which is open to the public, is entitled “Heavy Fare and Light Mice: Lessons from the Genetics of Mice”. Since March 2011 Professor Al-Hasani has headed the Institute for Clinical Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry at the German Diabetes Center in Düsseldorf (German acronym: DDZ). The main research focus of his team is the influence of genetic and environmental factors on the development and course of diabetes. The DDZ is a partner in the German Center for Diabetes Research.
