After five kilometers on the running course, it was done. Arms were thrown up in the air, selfies were taken or simply high-fived. On June 12, 2024, the time had finally come again, for the sixth time, 16 runners from the Paul Langerhans Institute Dresden (PLID) took part in the annual, now 15th edition of the REWE Team Challenge. The 4 teams, along with another 28,500 runners, took on the traditional route from Dresden's Altmarkt to the Rudolf Harbig Stadium. With ideal running temperatures, the PLID teams were once again able to achieve good results in the overall ranking.
The mixed team "Paul Runnerhans 2" finished a respectable 1332nd place out of a total of 3167 mixed teams with a total time of 1:56:06. A short time later, the "Paul Runnerhans 1" running team also crossed the finish line with a total time of 2:01:41, also an excellent 1797th place. The teams "Easygoing" and "Die Inselbegabten" were delighted with the fantastic places 2519 (2:12:12) and 2563 (2:13:15).
The PLID runners were also able to achieve new personal bests in the individual rankings. Among the women, Nicole "Speedy" Kipke achieved the fastest time of the PLID runners with 0:28:25 and reached 2128th place (out of a total of 10,256) in the overall women's ranking. Yanni "The Rabbit" Morgenroth crossed the finish line after just 0:21:05 and was thus able to reach the outstanding 806th place (out of a total of 15,870) in the overall men's ranking.
