German Diabetes Center (DDZ)
The German Diabetes Center in Düsseldorf (DDZ) is an interdisciplinary research institution that connects molecular and cell biology basic research with clinical and epidemiological research approaches.
Specifically, the scientific contributions of the DDZ are focused on improving the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus and its complications as well as enhancing the epidemiological data situation in Germany with regard to diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, the DDZ is the German reference center of the Leibniz Association for the disease profile of diabetes.
