Digital forum “diabinfo in Dialog” 2024: Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease - Don't Ignore the Mind
On October 21, the national diabetes information portal diabinfo.de invites you to the virtual event “diabinfo in dialog”. Many people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes struggle with concomitant cardiovascular diseases and their mental well-being is also often affected. How do high blood sugar levels affect the cardiovascular system? And how can people with diabetes and cardiovascular disease cope better with mental health problems and anxiety? These and other questions are the focus of this year's event.
The free event is aimed at people with diabetes, their relatives and all interested parties and will take place from 4.00 to 5.30 p.m. via Microsoft Teams in German language. Interested parties can register in advance here.
Lectures and interactive participation
This year, two specialist lectures are dedicated to the connections between diabetes, cardiovascular disease and the psyche:
- Prof. Dr. Julia Szendrödi will provide vivid insights into the topic of cardiovascular disease in people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. She is Medical Director of the Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetology, Metabolic Diseases and Clinical Chemistry at Heidelberg University Hospital.
- Prof. Dr. Bernhard Kulzer will provide a comprehensive overview of the psychological aspects of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. He is a psychologist at the Diabetes Center Mergentheim and spokesman and 1st chairman of the Diabetes & Psychology Working Group of the German Diabetes Association (DDG).
Your questions from the chat are welcome - the experts will be happy to answer them after their presentations. A dynamic break will provide variety and refreshment in between.
