“Exercise as a Miracle Cure” – The Topic at diabinfo in Dialog

How does physical activity affect blood sugar levels? Do different things have to be taken into account depending on the type of diabetes? How can I incorporate regular exercise into my daily routine? On June 15, from 4 pm to 6 pm, the national diabetes information portal diabinfo.de extends an invitation to its digital forum “Diabinfo im Dialog”. Through specialist lectures and a discussion panel, we will take a comprehensive look at the topic “Exercise as a Miracle Cure” together with viewers.

The event will cover the full spectrum of physical activity – from simple exercises to regular fitness training, including the more challenging kinds. The forum is aimed at all those who wish to actively improve their health, covering topics such as better diabetes management, prevention of complications, and improved personal well-being.

Prof. Dr. Christine Joisten and Prof. Dr. Cora Weigert will report on the latest findings related to the topic “Exercise as a Miracle Cure - What happens in the body during exercise?”. Christine Joisten is a professor of movement and health promotion at the German Sport University in Cologne. Cora Weigert is a professor of molecular diabetology at Tübingen University Hospital. After an “active break”, during which everyone can be active in front of their screens, diabetes specialist Dr. Ulrike Becker will moderate a discussion in which those with type 1 and type 2 diabetes can share their experiences

We will answer the following questions, among others: How does physical activity affect the blood sugar level? Do different things have to be taken into account depending on the type of diabetes? How can I incorporate regular exercise into my daily routine? What is my body actually capable of?

Viewer questions relating to all program items are welcome and will be answered live on air.
