The New Biennial Report of the German Institute of Human Nutrition Has Now Been Published

The new Biennial Report 2015-2016 of the DZD partner German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbrücke (DIfE) can now be accessed online or in a printed version. The report provides information on current research projects and other activities of the institute.

DIfE scientists investigate the relationships between diet and health in a combination of experimental, clinical and epidemiological research that is unique in Germany.

Their findings help to develop new strategies for the prevention and treatment of nutrition-related diseases as well as scientifically based dietary recommendations.
Research activities of the institute in 2015 and 2016 focused on:

- the causes and consequences of the metabolic syndrome, a combination of pathological overweight, hypertension, insulin resistance and a disturbed lipid metabolism

- the role of nutrition in healthy aging, also including important research findings on the potential of nutrition in preventing cancer

- the biological basis of food selection and dietary behavior

The report is available here. From the beginning of July 2017 it is also possible to order printed copies via presse(at)dife.de or via the telephone number +49 (0) 33200 88-2335.
