High Quality Lecturers at the 8th DZD Diabetes Research School

For the first time, the DZD Diabetes Research School (DRS) of the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD) will take place as a free online seminar series from September 29 to October 15, 2020. Doctoral students, postdocs and physician researchers interested in diabetes and metabolism research are invited. On six dates, renowned diabetes researchers will give an insight into their current research work, and participants can present their own projects in short poster presentations. Virtual discussion sessions ensure intensive networking.

The DRS online seminars offer a varied program of basic research, epidemiology and clinical practice. The start on September 29th will be made with Philipp Scherer, University of Texas, USA, a proven expert in research into adipose tissue and adipokines. Other sessions will include lectures on the prevention of type 1 diabetes  (Colin Dayan, UK), the specific epidemiology of type 2 diabetes in Danish population groups (Marit Eika Jørgensen, DK), the role of lipotoxicity in the pancreas (Miriam Cnop, BE), the relationship between diet and the brain (Kathleen Page, USA) and diabetes-related diseases such as nephropathy and cardiovascular damage (Luigi Gnudi, UK).

The DRS is the highlight of DZD NEXT, the DZD young talent program.

To attend the seminars via live stream, all you need to do is register by September 28th. Participation is free.
